Theory & Practice in Material Light-Exposure Testing

Basic information about the seminar

Together with our experienced lecturer and certified corrosion engineer Ing. Ondřej Janča, we are preparing a one-day seminar aimed at introducing participants to the principles of simulating solar radiation and the climatic effects of weathering on materials and their degradation. The seminar combines expert explanation with practical demonstrations of measurement and evaluation of results.

The seminar is suitable for technicians, laboratory staff, technologists, development staff and quality managers who want to understand the effect of climatic conditions on materials and learn to interpret the results of light-exposure tests correctly.

So that we can give every participant our full attention, the seminar capacity is limited to 12 people. Earlier registrations take priority, so do not hesitate to register.

Theory & Practice in Material Light-Exposure Testing

What topics to look forward to

Radiation and materials

Classification of the types of radiation (UV, VIS, IR) and their interaction with the material.

Types of environment and the influence of climate

Simulation of dry (Kalahari), humid (Florida), temperate and offshore conditions, radiation intensity and combinations of effects (UV, heat, humidity, salt).

Types of tests

UV and full-spectrum tests, climatic tests and combined cycles, with an explanation of their significance.

Practical measurement

Demonstrations and practical measurement of colorimetry, gloss and surface roughness, with interpretation of results and changes in appearance.

Tailor-made seminar

If you would like to arrange individual training (e.g. for several people) at your premises and with your own equipment, we are happy to discuss the option with you and propose a possible concept.

How does it work?

  1. 1 You send us your requirements, e.g. what the training should cover.
  2. 2 We get back to you and fine-tune the details, conditions, venue, etc.
  3. 3 We prepare the ideal content and send you a price quotation.
  4. 4 We deliver the training.
