  • Training of your employeesto increase their expertise
  • Accredited laboratoriesfor external tests and calibrations

Hardness tests of plastics

We measure the hardness of plastics using the Rockwell R, Shore (A and D) and IRHD methods. The Micro Shore A and IRHD Micro methods are also suitable for measuring small parts, such as O-rings, and allow accurate evaluation of elastomers and softer plastics. The results of hardness tests provide important information about the mechanical resistance of the material.

Hardness tests of plastics

Strength and ductility tests of plastics

We carry out tensile tests of plastics, which determine their strength characteristics – tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and modulus of elasticity. These parameters are essential for assessing the mechanical behaviour of the plastic under load and its ability to deform without failure.

Solar tests of plastics

We test the resistance of plastic materials to sunlight, i.e. full-spectrum radiation. This radiation contains all three components: ultraviolet (UV), visible and infrared (IR). We simulate long-term exposure to sunlight under controlled conditions in order to evaluate changes in colour, mechanical properties or surface degradation.

Precise dimensional measurement

Our specialised workplace is equipped with modern microscopes that enable measurement with high resolution and accuracy. These measurements serve to verify compliance with the drawing documentation, to check shape deviations and to ensure the quality of production.

Everything we test for you

In our laboratory we carry out comprehensive testing of plastic materials, which helps to verify their mechanical properties, resistance to external influences and long-term reliability. We focus on tests of hardness, strength, ductility and resistance to sunlight. Thanks to modern methods and instruments, we provide accurate data for the development of new products, quality control and evaluation of the service life of plastic parts.

Scope of tests

  • Hardness of plastics using the Shore or IRHD methods
  • Strength characteristics of behaviour under mechanical load
  • Dimensional inspection according to the requirements of the drawing documentation
  • Resistance of plastic materials to sunlight

What We Test for You

Micro Shore A

Micro Shore A

The method enables accurate measurement of the hardness of soft plastics and elastomers even on very small parts whose thickness is less than that required by the standards for the Shore A and D methods (ČSN ISO 48-4, ASTM D 2240, ČSN EN ISO 868), or on parts with non-standard dimensions and shapes.

Strength of plastics

Strength of plastics

It describes how a material responds to mechanical load - tension, compression or bending. Key parameters such as tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and elongation at break are determined according to the ČSN EN ISO 527-1 standard.

IRHD Micro

IRHD Micro

It is ideal for accurate evaluation of elastomers and small plastic parts, such as O-rings, without damaging them, according to the ČSN ISO 48-2 standard.
Resistance to sunlight

Resistance to sunlight

The material is exposed to the influence of climatic changes and at the same time to the effect of full-spectrum sunlight, which can affect its properties and service life.

The standards we test to for you

To ensure the quality and reliability of plastic and polymer products, we carry out tests according to a number of international and Czech standards. We focus on hardness measurement (Shore, IRHD and ball indentation methods), tensile and flexural properties, as well as compression resistance of soft foam materials. We also test the resistance of plastic materials to sunlight. These tests provide a comprehensive overview of the behaviour of materials and serve as a basis for development, quality control and certification of products.

Standards

  • ČSN ISO 48-2 IRHD hardness
  • ČSN ISO 48-4 Shore hardness
  • ČSN EN ISO 2039 Ball indentation method
  • ISO 527-1 and ISO 527-2: Determination of tensile properties of plastics
  • ČSN EN ISO 868 Shore
  • ČSN EN ISO 3386 Flexible cellular polymeric materials
  • ČSN EN ISO 178 Plastics - Determination of flexural properties
  • DIN 75 220 Assessment of material ageing
